Synopsis
Omar Shargawi wants to understand his father better and he often casts his father’s character in his films to get closer to him. “Western Arabs” closely intertwines documentary material and scenes from these feature films. Shot over a period of twelve years, this film is an examination by the filmmaker of both his fraught relationship with his father and it’s influence on his identity.
