ARMCDH: “The battle for human rights and democracy is more than ever a cultural battle”
The Association des Rencontres Méditerranéennes du Cinéma et des droits de l’Homme (ARMCDH) was created in 2010. The mission of the ARMCDH is to promote the culture of human rights through cinema. Composed of an elected office and an administrative staff, the ARMCDH has organized around forty activities to date since its creation: Thursdays of cinema and human rights, children’s mornings, cinema masterclasses and human rights and the Nuit Blanche of cinema and human rights.
The ARMCDH is convinced that the universality of the values of human rights and democracy benefits from being conveyed by cinema in its various forms (fiction and documentary, feature and short film). It makes it possible in a lively and concrete way to exchange views on and from different countries, to open the Moroccan public to other experiences in the defense of human rights.
