Human Rights Seminars by the ANHAR Network
As part of the ANHAR Network’s human rights film activities, a series of seminars were held focusing on contemporary issues related to human rights, media, and social justice. These discussions aimed to foster dialogue and awareness around critical topics.
1. Seminar: “New Perspectives on Journalism: The Modern News Era”
Organized with the support of the ANHAR Network and IMS Foundation, this seminar was part of the annual “’Must Meet Meeting” event. It explored the concept of “citizen journalism,” where ordinary individuals document and share news via social media using smartphones.

- Ethics and standards for accuracy and objectivity.

2. Seminar: “Out of Frame” – A Cinematic Masterclass
Syrian filmmaker and producer Ahmad Al-Haj (Wind Cinema) delivered a technical masterclass titled “Out of Frame.” The session focused on:
- The influence of cinematographic framing and shots.
- The symbolic messages conveyed by visual compositions beyond their surface meaning.
- The role of Syrian cinema in navigating censorship and oppression, and how it has been used as a propaganda tool by authoritarian regimes.
This masterclass provided a critical and artistic exploration of Syrian cinema.

3. Seminar: “Cooperative Work and Challenges”
This seminar addressed the challenges faced by women leaders in cooperative associations, providing recommendations to improve the working environment for cooperative movements in Jordan. It also emphasized the importance of safeguarding women’s rights and supporting their small-scale initiatives.
The discussion was preceded by a short film titled “Cooperative Work”, which set the stage for meaningful conversations about women’s experiences and challenges in this field.
