Call for Film Entry: Karama Human Rights Film Festival 10
Karama Human Rights Film Festival, organized by Ma3mal 612-Think Factory, launches the call for entries for its 10th edition from 4-10 December 2019, in Jordan Karama Jordan is the first human rights film festival in the Arab region, it co-founded and supported several festivals in the arab region, such as: “Karama Palestine | 2013”, “Karama Mauritania | 2014”, “Karama Gaza-Red Carpet Human Rights Film Festival | 2015”, “Karama Beirut | 2016”, “Karama Yemen | 2018” and supported “Karama Tunis-The International Festival for Human Rights Films” and “Erato Human Rights Film Festival in Lybia”, within the framework of “ANHAR- The Arab Network of human Rights Film Festivals”, which Karama founded in 2015
In its 10th edition, Karama comes as a celebration of 10 years since the inception of the first human rights film festival in the Arab world. The theme of the 10th edition will celebrate a generation of artists, activists and youth, who are aware, engaged and committed to human rights values and issues, and tracing the transformations that influenced the Arab and world cinema, in terms of topics and treatment.
Karama Generation
The festival accepts human rights films, which are significant to the Arab region, which documented or depicted the changes and transformations that took place in the last 10 years. The films must be tackling issues of political and social transformations, justice, obstacles and challenges concerning human rights abuse in the world as well as the role of cinema in shaping awareness and promoting the values of human rights in local communities.
We are currently accepting entries for films of the following genres: short Fiction, short Documentary, and short Animation, which are produced after January 2017. A selection of films will compete in the Karama Feather Awards for Best Fiction Feature, Best Feature Documentary, Best Short Fiction Film, Best Animated Film, Best Jordanian Film, as well as the “ANHAR Award: Arab Network for Human Rights Film Festivals”.
